Custom Office Cabinetry in Melba

This was a tricky breezeway project in Payette. The client had their house oriented to the best mountain views from the large windows in the main living, but their detached garage was aligned with the driveway at about a 15 degree angle from the house. Joining the two buildings created a trapezoidal breezeway. Maintaining level eaves and a level ridgeline on a trapezoidal roof inevitably produces a twisted roof surface. To eliminate the twist and improve the aesthetics of the breezeway, we built an open dormer from corner to corner with a custom laminated beam. The result? Not only did the apparent twist disappear, but the back of the breezeway was opened to the vivid views of the valley, and the ceiling height was elegantly improved.
